Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of mytownshowcase.com (the “Site”), operated by MyTownShowcase (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

What MyTownShowcase is

MyTownShowcase is a directory that helps patrons discover independent local businesses, organized by community, along with community features like forums and event listings. We don’t guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any listing, and we aren’t a party to any transaction between a patron and a business.

Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
• You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, provides false information, or is used for abusive or fraudulent activity.

Business listings

• Business listings are reviewed before publication and must represent a real, independently-owned local business.
• You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information in your listing, including hours, contact details, and offers.
• We may edit, unpublish, or remove a listing that’s inaccurate, misleading, violates these Terms, or is reasonably determined not to fit the Site’s focus on independent local businesses.
• Listing tiers (Select, Plus, Pro, Premier) and their features may change over time. Paid tiers, when introduced, will be subject to additional payment terms disclosed at checkout.

Content you submit

This includes business photos, patron photos, forum posts, and event submissions. By submitting content, you confirm that you own it or have the right to share it, and you grant us a license to display it on the Site as part of its normal operation. You’re solely responsible for the content you submit.

You agree not to submit content that:

• Is false, misleading, or infringes someone else’s rights
• Is harassing, hateful, obscene, or otherwise unlawful
• Promotes a business you don’t own or aren’t authorized to represent
• Is spam or unrelated advertising

We may remove content and, for repeated or serious violations, suspend the associated account. Reported content is reviewed at our discretion.

Intellectual property

The Site’s design, code, and branding belong to MyTownShowcase. Business names, logos, and content submitted by businesses or patrons remain the property of whoever submitted them.

Disclaimers

The Site is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that listings are accurate, that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any business found through the Site will meet your expectations. Any dealings you have with a business listed on the Site are solely between you and that business.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyTownShowcase won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, or from any transaction or interaction with a business found through the Site.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
